I am 58 years old. My npd parents started their divorce when i was 13. It finally ended when i was 17. At the very beginning my father promised my mother that was exactly what he would do to her and she swore she'd do it to him. They even used a lot of the same words. I still remember all the ways they used my brother and me to deliver on those promises. Evil is my parents. The world beyond our house has never been anything but wonderful by comparison. No one was ever more cruel or destructive to me than they were. Now both of their lives are open sewers. All of their worst nightmares have come true. They are alone, sick, powerless, dependent, hated with no one who sincerely cares what happens to them. Almost everyone they know will just feel relief when they die. And they know it. I don't believe in God or souls or life after physical death. You get your hand and play it. That's all. They had no idea how to play life. It wasn't the hand they got. It was the way they played. Stupid, selfish, short sighted. But even if they'd won they wouldn't. understand the gifts. Love and connection mean nothing to them. Fortunately for me the public library allowed me to be raised by great minds and wise people. I followed the lessons in my books and i have a life filled with the most amazing people and rich in love and friendship. I continue to feel ever expanding gratitude. Always go all in for genuine love and service with people who understand and value those things. Even if it's hard, or you have to part, your heart will grow softer and kinder. That's my takeaway.

Yes that makes sense. As my ex cycled through vulnerability he mentioned his doubts and I felt his insecurity but he soon went on his daily tour in his practice to get his additional supply from his "loving patients" and he manipulated the ones that had expressed their feelings towards him. He needed to know that they loved him to feed his grandiosity😢

Oh... Where is this whole episode. I have been free from this truama for about 2.5 years and have had about three episodes of flashback madness of anger... The constant anger at the narc did feed it well... That I neve had before the narc , not on this level, before being reaction abused by my covert malignant narcissist x husband.. He is evil to the core and abused me and my son on a acute level. His overreach was several.. Including we homeschooled due to school problems and living far out in South Africa.. In the end, my 23 year old son is finishing the basics of homeschool work.. I was doing great till the covert came... Long story short. He is a child abuser. These guys you must run from. In the end.. Homelessness is better.. Move on. Seriously.. Own step at a time. Change your identity to play it more safe..

I'm like, I'm out, I'm good, and then i noticed self-destructive behaviors that were just like his. I'm forcing myself to be who i was before him every day now. The awareness this just gave me will this much easier to return to pre narc but with tremendous boundaries.

This reminds me of the time that I was with a narcissist(not diagnosed) And he said something to me that was very sad. It made me feel sad and then he said to me “did you believe that?” I said yes, and he said “good then I am a great actor. “ like he was practicing! He actually said that!

Women under 30 though have a much larger selection base and can compromise it out - you may have more earning potential than another but be less attractive and can we change you to be more attractive for us, etc. Women absolutely fall in love with looks. My shrink felt her PhD overrode any input from me a patient without one. Ideas and feeling I ripped from my heart were. deflected as distortions or other heresies When I collapsed on the way to a session, she felt my nearly non-existant vital signs were not a serious problem. One issue I have is a very focused logic based form of autism, for which was one of the experts to certify it. Yet my logic could never get thru her expert view of things. I was also being treated for damage caused by a narcissistic mother I was living with at the time.
